Nature in the UK is still in decline — but recovery is possible

Natural World Fund - Restoring the UK's wild places through habitat, science and partnership.

Nature in the UK is still in decline — but recovery is possible.

Across the country, conservation efforts are being held back by fragmented habitats, degraded soils, pollution, and under-resourced land management. Many funding models simply aren’t flexible or practical enough to deliver long-term ecological recovery.

The Natural World Fund (NWF) is taking a different approach — working collaboratively with landowners, tenant farmers, councils, and communities to restore habitats across multiple sites. By focusing on ecological science and partnership (not costly land purchases), NWF is unlocking recovery where it’s needed most.

Britain’s wild places can recover — but only if we work together.
